It is with an immensely gratifying sense of accomplishment that our chefs have baked their very first Wordpress widget, which has been successfully tested in Wordpress 2.0.4 and 2.2.2 - and works like a dream in both versions!

We’re calling it the WP Mega Feedjit Widget, and what it basically allows you to do is drop (up-to three instances into up-to three different sidebars) instantaneous and self-serving geo-tagged site statistics powered by Feedjit.

The look and feel of this widget can be highly configured to fit seamlessly with your own site design.

HOWEVER - BE WARNED: NOT WORKING IN WP 2.5

And… Although each instance of this widget can be configured differently, if more than one instance in on the same page as each other, the first instance controls the settings of the second.

If displayed on different pages, each can have different settings.

Now that Feedjit have released their own customisation codes, it has been possible to mash-together this Wordpress plug-in and finally introduce the customisation tools that we had been hoping to add ourselves.

This has allowed for the rapid development of this Wordpress Widget and full colour, size and alignment customisation can now be made to the widget from the Wordpress dashboard, and we will quickly ensure that this customisation becomes easier.

At the moment, the only customisation that is easy to use is the widget alignment, which can be selected from a drop-down list.

Give us a bit more time, and we will get it all working nicely…

We finally added easy (colour-picking) customisation for the background, the headers, the text and the links!

Still have a few more bugs to iron out, but nothing major…

We fixed the issue where the color picker would only work within the first instance of the widget…

All 3 instances now have easy color picking…

Be warned that if there are two of these widgets on the same page, the first one over-rides all other settings, but that is beyond our control due to it being a server-side scripting regulation that is controlled by Feedjit…

The multiple instances option available with this widget is designed to allow people that use different sidebars for different areas of their sites to have the widget in both areas, not for someone to have two instances of it on the same page…

Thanks for the positive feedback about the widget…

As for our new site, the head chefs are working hard on several commercial projects at the moment, so have not had the time to concentrate on our own needs, but hope to have it live by the end of the year…

Just FYI, it doesn’t seem to work in WP 2.5. IE keeps crashing and FireFox just keeps spinning.

Must admit that we have been real busy over here working on a bunch of up-coming projects, but will add it to our list of things to fix… In the meantime, sorry for the trouble to all concerned…
